PECUNIA Results of Horizontal Activity 3 and Work Package 5 Presented during Organised Session at VGE Conference

On March 6, 2020, PECUNIA team members from Maastricht University (UM) and Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), the Netherlands, organised a session on Broader Costs and Outcomes at the conference of the Dutch-Flemish Health Economics Association in Utrecht. The theme of this year’s conference was 'Health Economics in the Low Lands: Roots & Trends'. Our organized session highlighted the importance of measurement and valuation of intersectoral costs by presentations on productivity costs (Kimberley Hubens, EUR), and education and criminal justice (Luca Janssen, UM). Subsequently, the operationalization was demonstrated in a presentation on the development of a multi-sectoral PECUNIA RUM (Irina Pokhilenko, UM). Also, the estimation of the ‘Pan-European’ value set for the EQ-5D-3L (Ayesha Sajjad, EUR) was presented. Finally, the usefulness of broader outcomes for decision-making was illustrated in the field of vaccinations (Inge van der Putten, UM). The presentations were well received and we had interesting discussions afterwards.
